Marriage is a sacrament in which the couple and God enter into a lifelong, exclusive covenant relationship. Marriage preparation provides an opportunity for the couple to reflect and discern their intent to enter into such a relationship. Married couples are called to witness to faith through their commitment and devotion.
Couples who wish to be married at Holy Name Catholic Church may schedule a wedding date if one or both are registered members of Holy Name parish. Archdiocesan Policy requires six months of marriage preparation. Preparation will require meeting with the Pastor, assignment to a Sponsor Couple, and attendance at either a Tobit Weekend Retreat or Pre-Cana Retreat.
Weddings are celebrated on most weekends, excluding during the seasons of Advent and Lent. The first step in marriage preparation is to call the parish office to schedule an initial appointment.
