MASS SCHEDULE CHANGE
Effective November 13-14
As you all know, we have been getting feedback over the past few weeks about reducing the Mass schedule here at Holy Name. We have done a great deal of consultation with many different groups, and I have spent much time thinking and praying about how best to make this change. So, beginning the weekend of November 13-14, our Sunday Mass schedule here at Holy Name will be reduced from 4 Masses to 3 Masses. The new Mass Schedule will be as follows:
Saturday evening Mass will remain the same, at 5:00 PM. This was the overwhelming preference based on the parish survey we did.
.
Sunday morning we will have two Masses at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. This was the most difficult decision, but it was the clear overall preference among those who provided feedback.
Additionally, starting on November 13, there will no longer be music at the 5:00 PM. Saturday evening Mass. Both the 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM Masses on Sunday will have music, but the Saturday Mass will be a “Quiet” Mass rather than the 7:30 Sunday Mass.
Obviously, the idea behind this change is to make the Mass schedule more manageable, but also, to help make our Sunday celebration of the Eucharist a more unifying and vibrant experience. Thank you to all who provided feedback.
In His Holy Name,
Fr. Robert Robeson
